1 day glass painting workshop

Learn traditional and experimental glass painting techniques for stained glass

The workshop is a fun and informal 1 day course that will teach you the basics of glass painting. It is suitable for absolute beginners or people who have some experience.  You will make various samples, as well as a finished piece.  All the glass will need to be fired in a kiln overnight, so can be collected the following day, or posted to your home.

You will be able to work at your own pace and class sizes will be max 6 people.

 

The workshop will cover the following

 

· Different glass paint

· Brushes

· Cleaning the glass and mixing paint

· Tracing and matting

· Experimental mark making

· Using silver stain

· Firing

All Courses run from 10am to 5pm

Classes are limited to 6 people 

Prices includes all materials and equipment.

Refreshments - tea, coffee and cake provided. Please bring a packed lunch

(There is a small shop in the village that sells pasties etc and a pub that does takeaways)

All courses are held in the beautiful peak district village of Great Longstone,

a fabulous place for walking and cycling and close to Bakewell and Chatsworth House

2 day glass painting and stained glass workshop

A 2 day course covering all the traditional techniques needed to create a small painted stained glass panel.

The workshop is a fun and informal 2 day course that covers glass cutting, design, glass painting, firing, leading and soldering.  It is suitable for absolute beginners or people who have some experience. 

You will be able to work at your own pace and class sizes will be max 6 people.

 

Day 1. You will learn basic glass cutting methods, traditional and experimental glass painting techniques.  You will cut out a simple pattern in coloured glass which you will paint. This will be fired over night

Day 2. Using lead you will assemble your panel, solder, cement and finish it, ready to take home with you.

3 day glass painting and stained glass workshop

Format as for the 2 day course above but with an extra day for glass painting on day 2. The extra day gives you the opportunity to build up texture and layers with a second glass firing.
